    Friday Finds {recipes}

    Today I thought I’d share some of our favorite sweet and savory recipes that we’ve been using lately. Three of these are regular recipes that we have weekly here in the Cornwell Casa and the entire family loves them. Get your taste buds ready! Cinnamon Scones – I made these scones in heart shapes for Valentine’s Day and again just last week. I really enjoy them with a nice cup of coffee. Some people don’t like scones because they can be dry, but these have sour cream as an ingredient which helps them to be a little more moist and light then most scones.   Homemade Taco Seasoning – Our…

    Granny’s Sugar Cookies

    I’ve always loved cookies. Growing up I loved the tradition of my mom making peanut butter kiss cookies at Christmas. Once I became a wife, I loved making Dave chocolate chip cookies. Now that I’m a mom, the kids like when I make sugar cookies. A few years back, I took part in a Christmas show at a wonderful woman’s house in the country. Last night I made up a recipe and it’s become my new favorite. I took 4 ingredients, threw them in the slow cooker and *POOF* dinner is served! I have no pictures because, honestly, there’s no way to get a good picture of this meal. It’s shredded chicken, beans and tomatoes – how pretty can that be? Nonetheless, it’s yummy! Here’s what you need: 3 frozen chicken breasts1 small can black beans (drained & rinsed)1 can Rotel diced tomatoes w/ chile’s1 c chicken broth Put those 4 ingredients in your slow cooker on low all day. I served mine with rice and tortilla chips. Use whatever rice you like (mexican,…

    Seriously Good Doughnut Muffins

    I printed out this recipe yesterday and last night I was inspired to try them. The recipe used ingredients that I already had here at home so I knew they would be an easy recipe. Plus, just the name is enough to make my mouth water! The kids LOVED them, I LOVED them, and I think even Hubby liked them. This will definitely be a good Saturday breakfast fresh out of the oven. There are many different doughnut muffin recipes out there, but this one tastes pretty good. Head over to Our Family Treat or check out the recipe below. The other recipes I saw online said to just dip…
