    Every time I get to a new stage with my kids, I feel like there are 1,067 things I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. I mean, how did I get to be this old, have read this many books, have done this much schooling, taught this many children, and I somehow failed to get all these tips/tricks/information I absolutely NEED to know? Because that’s really the astonishing thing here. So, my oldest is all of 3 right now, and then I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. We’re swimming in toddlers over here.     top 10 things I wish I knew about newborns {amber}

    as with the Top 10 things I Wish I’d Known About Being Pregnant, there are a million things i can’t believe i didn’t know about newborns and the first three months of baby-life. i have friends who, when they were expecting, read every book, magazine, blog and Bible verse they could get their swollen little hands on, to be prepared for the advent of their little one.  did i?  oh, no.  heavens, no.  “women centuries ago didn’t have Babywise or Babywhisperer books and they got along just fine.  i mean, mary, the mother of Jesus didn’t get a subscription to Parenting magazine; susannah wesley didn’t need those What to Expect…

    5 things {love}

    In celebration of the month of love, I thought I’d share 5 things that I love right now (of course there are more than 5 things that I love, but these are what’s fresh to me today). 1. I love my hubby’s unconventional job schedule and the help that he is to me. Being a corporate pilot, he’s on call all of the time which can be a challenge, but it also opens up his schedule when he’s not flying to do date days or assist me with the kids when I need to work. On Thursday we were able to take a date day during school because he was…

    time is fleeting

    Sometimes I look at my kids (especially my oldest) and think, there’s no way I’m old enough to have an 8 year old. Sometimes it’s like I’m dreaming and I’m still in my 20’s, newly married and just out of college. Other times it feels like an eternity since it was just Dave and I. I need to remind myself daily that time is flying by and (as my mom once said to me) to not wish the days away. I need to remind myself that kids are kids and I shouldn’t wish for tomorrow or for when they’re past a certain stage or milestone. I need to cherish the…
